About the Consolidated Plan

The City of Gastonia is working to update its Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan. These plans are required by the U.S. Department of  Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to address local needs related to housing, economic and community development, and homelessness.

The Consolidated Plan will assess the current housing market, discuss characteristics of the city’s population, and set priorities for community improvement. The Annual Action Plan will identify projects the City plans to implement in 2020 using federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnerships Act (HOME) funds from HUD.

The community's opinions and perceptions are an important part of the planning process, and everyone is invited to participate.Your input will provide essential information to local policymakers, city staff, housing providers, social service providers, lenders, and affordable housing advocates.
